Footprint - 2024 in Review
2024 was a big year at Footprint. Take a look at all we accomplished.

What is the end of the year, if not a time to reflect? We have been sprinting towards the end of 2024 to get a couple of significant features launched, but we wanted to take some time to reflect on 2024 at Footprint.
Our growth team was pushing to do this in our platform, like Spotify Wrapped, but our CTO (correctly) noted that it wasnβt the best use of developer resources at the moment, so you are stuck with my subpar writing. Sorry!!
This year included many exciting milestones at Footprint. We raised our Series A in February, moved into our first office in NYC, had a whole team offsite in said office, and moved out of said office and into our second office in NYC.
Our sales team circled the globe (or at least the United States), meeting customers and prospects and sharing the Footprint story at conferences. Our engineering team managed to find some time to sleep; we welcomed three new Footprint babies into the world.2024

2024 in the Product
Enhanced KYB
We knew that KYB would be a key Footprint feature from the start. In 2024, we leaned in and improved the product. We now support additional KYB insights like detecting potentially missing beneficial owners, seeing how we have verified business information, pulling Secretary of State filings directly from state databases, and having a street view of the company's primary address. We also launched multi-business support, allowing users to add additional businesses or update existing ones on the fly.

Automated Backtesting
With a powerful rules engine comes lots of responsibility. As we played with competitor tools and spoke to prospects, a common complaint was the challenge around backtesting when introducing a new rule. We automate it and present it to you immediately.

Footprint Fraud
Footprint Fraud is not a single fraud-fighting feature but a collection of tools that work together to power your product (and team) to fight fraud on a large scale. Fraud and identity are intrinsically linked. Doing one without the other can only be so helpful. With our fraud suite, you can collect and act on risk signals like device insights and behavioral biometrics and dynamically request additional information from your users in real time. Read more here.

Compliance Automation
We were thrilled to launch a partnership with Treasury Prime back in February. Through this partnership, we gained unique insight into partner banks' work to manage their fintech programs. Footprint is in a unique seat to help streamline some of this work. With compliance automation, partner banks can gain insight into all the users onboarded to various partners, which checks were run, who manually reviewed them, etc. All valuable insights as they prepare for their annual audits.

Onboarding Components
One of the main problems with many identity providers is they exist as purely a backend tool. There is only so much fraud you can prevent when you get passed information and verify that it exists in some database. You must be on the front end, interacting with users and dynamically requesting additional information. But we know control over the front end is essential, so we built components. Components are invisible boxes you overlay on your input fields, allowing you to take full advantage of the Footprint platform without any sacrifices.

Custom Documents
Verifying identity is one thing. It is an essential thing, a thing we do very well, and a thing we care deeply about. But often, it is just one piece of a user that companies would like verified. We were having conversations with companies who wanted the ability to verify W2s, Utility Bills, Bank Statements, you name it. To tackle all of these, we have launched the ability to collect custom documents. Through our dashboard, you can request any PDF document that meets your heart's desires, and we will run tamper detection on it to streamline the verification process.

2024 in the Media
2024 was packed, exciting, challenging, and rewarding. But 2024 was just the start. In January, we will be publishing our 2025 look ahead.
We are honored that you have joined us on this journey and cannot wait to continue building together.
